Thanks much for all the Save the Date comments/advice. I'm definitely leaning closer and closer to Loverboy's stance on this ... even though I really really like designing AND paper products. Hrumph. (stamping foot and pouting)

Anyway, today's topic. Dresses. Broad topic, I know.
Here are some things I need to keep in mind about a dress:
1. I have two tattoos on my back. They're on the top, near each shoulder, and I want them to show. This usually requires a strapless or halter dress.
2. I have a large chest. Very large. It's not proportional to my body. A dress will probably have to be custom-made in reality. This also means a halter dress may not be the best idea ... unless I go with a specific type of halter (more on that type/style later when I remember what it's called - basically the halter straps are just there for looks ... but the dress goes straight across).
3. I'm tall. Not overly tall, 5'9" ... but I hesitate for a long dress because it will probably not be quite long enough unless, well, custom made ... and also because
4. I have nice legs. They're bruised and scarred in places but they're nicely shaped. Something I'm not ashamed of. At all.
5.But I kind of want a fairy tale dress ... that's pretty ... and long ... and makes me look fabulous.

So I've decided I want to dresses. A long one for the ceremony and a short one for the reception. I may end up just having the short one. But we'll see. We will definitely see. Anyway, I just found
Stephanie James Couture last week. And I love the dresses there.

Is it okay not to have them?
Believe it or not Loverboy and I were talking about this topic.
Nevermind we're not engaged. Let alone do we have a wedding date.
But he caught me looking at Off Beat Bride and somehow that became our topic.
He knows I want to make all the paper stuff.
With my love of design and all things wonderful ... it just makes sense.
Then Loverboy said he just doesn't understand the concept of save the dates.
I explained to him their purpose, and he said, "well, yeah, that makes sense I guess."
Which means it doesn't make sense.

Then I got to thinking - maybe we won't need them.

But I just can't help but think about the cool possibilities we'll be missing out on by not having them. Such as:







They're post cards! And they look like music posters! And the back lends then to a cute little personalized message!







Fortune Cookies!!! In a little jewelry box!!! and the fortune asks the guests to "save the date" and has the details. Clever. Clever clever clever.






Fabric save the dates? Wow. Cute. I really, really, really like these! Except I really don't like the idea of a hankie ... so I think I would try to discourage them being used that way. You know ... "Please! Every time you blow your nose - remember to save the date of my wedding!" Gross.



We could always take a fun and creative picture ... like that one ... and put it on say ... a magnet ... a mug ... a post card ... a hankie? Ha.

My point, of course, is that there are so many cute ideas for a save the date. And I think I'm going to have a hard time accepting not sending out something that says "Hey! We're in love! And we're getting married! You better plan on one thing for this date! Our wedding, duh!" But I guess it can just be accomplished by word-of-mouth. And it is an additional cost. But ... but ... I don't know where I stand on this.

I'm trying to figure out the easiest/smartest way to move my posts over from the other blog. I'm guessing copy and paste? Seems tedious ... or I can simply start fresh here I suppose.

Okay, I'm moving my blog - PAPERHOUSE- here ... I needed a better name that was more fitting. And well, I wanted to use PAPERHOUSE for other things.

Sorry, guys, for any confusion.

Okay.

It's seriously time for me to get in shape.

And that scares me.

But I don't want to look like a fat cow in my wedding dress.

And I'd like to be able to comfortably wear a bikini.

So here goes dieting.

And working out.

With so many options, how does one decide!??!?!?!
